200 Hour Programs

The East meets West Yoga Teacher Training Program is designed by Dawn Curtis (RYT 500) and Ladan Judge (E-RYT 500) to help deepen your knowledge, intuition, understanding and experience of yoga. Our program is a fusion of various yoga styles; studying the depth of each style, celebrating their diversity while recognizing their unity.

 

The program immerses you in the depth of Yoga; from asana, pranayama, meditation to the art of joyful living through self knowledge and conscious living. Whether you would like to teach yoga or deepen your knowledge of this vast ancient tradition, your journey begins with the 200 Hour training, and deepens with the 500 Hour advanced teacher training.

 

The teacher training programs will be lead by Ladan Judge, Dawn Curtis, and a wonderful team of renowned talented expert guest teachers: Max Strom, Nischala Joy Devi, Doug Keller, Dr. Ray Long, Susan Van Nuys, Jamie Elmer, Lynn Mathews, Pierre Couvillion.

This program is a doorway to deepening your journey into yoga providing you with a solid foundation, the skills and knowledge you need to become a self confident, distinguished Yoga Teacher. The program provides you with the tools you need to develop and discover the teacher within helping you recognize and trust your intuitive knowledge and inner voice so you can spread and share the joy of yoga with others.

 

This program is Yoga Alliance approved and upon completion of the program you can obtain your 200hr Yoga Alliance Teaching Certification.

  • Philosophy and History of Yoga
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Introduction to the energetic Anatomy of the body and the Chakra system
  • Asana: Analysis, Alignment and Practice
  • Assisting and Adjusting
  • The Mechanics of Teaching
  • The Art of Sequencing: Session based vs. drop-in class structure
  • Teaching Special Populations: Prenatal and Elderly
  • Restorative Poses
  • Pranayama Techniques
  • Meditation Techniques
  • Sanskrit

 

Prerequisite: Desire and commitment to embrace the teachings yoga has to offer with 2 years of consistent yoga practice.

Hours:

Saturday and Sunday 9:30am - 6:30pm

*Some guest weekends include might include a Friday night gathering.

 

Attendance to all sessions is required. You can miss only ONE weekend, make up will be given accordingly and subject to an additional workshop fee.

 

Tuition:

  • $3,000 paid in full by August 1, 2012
  • $3,250.00 paid in full after August 1, 2012
  • Payment plan is available with added 15% processing fee.
  • Final tuition payment due on or before September 15, 2012. No refunds after September 15.
  • Your tuition covers ONE weekly yoga classes at East Meets West Yoga Center for the duration of the program, all course handouts and all guest teacher fees. Additional class passes will be discounted to trainees at the rate of 10%.
  • An additional fee of approximately $300 to be paid in April 2013 for our 3 day Retreat in Madison, VA.
