Dawn Curtis (Devta)

Dawn (Devta) first explored Kundalini Yoga in 1990, studying with Darshan Yoga Studio, wherein she had the extraordinary pleasure of meeting Yogi Bhajan, the Master of Kundalini Yoga. Dawn brings a warm and vibrant teaching style drawing on her continuing education with such master teachers as Gurmukh from Golden Bridge in Los Angeles & New York, Guru Dev Singh, Shakta Kaur Khalsa, Todd Norian and Ann Greene of Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Amy Weintraub (LifeForce Yoga Therapy), JJ Gormley of Eureka Yoga in Montana, Betsy Downing, PhD, Brian Legere (Yoga Wall technique), and Susan Van Nuys and Doug Keller of Health Advantage Yoga Center.

Dawn is continuing to pursue her RYT-700 hour certification with JJ Gormley of Eureka Yoga. Most recently, she completed a second 200 hour teacher training program with Doug Keller and Susan Van Nuys at Health Advantage Yoga Center in Herndon, Virginia, completing this training in December 2006. She completed an Anusara Immersion Level I with Todd Norian and Ann Greene in June 2006 at Kripalu Center in Lenox, Massachusetts.

In the privacy of the Studio, where Dawn can work individually, it is easier to give lots of personal attention, and that is what she loves to do. In private lessons it is all about you and your needs. If you are new to Yoga, it might benefit you to have a few private classes first before you venture out in a group class. Dawn can help you with learning the poses and breathing techniques in a way that would suit your body type, your health issues and your goals the best. You can then take those skills and practice with confidence anywhere, anytime. If you have been practicing for some time and want to take your practice to another level, one-on-one instruction can help you do that. Dawn can assist you in mastering challenging poses and advanced breathwork, as well as meditation and beyond. If you are suffering from past injuries or other health issues, she can help you put together a program that would be beneficial. Dawn is absolutely convinced that yoga can be a healing presence in our lives.
