Heather Hagaman

Having been born into a military family (both parents were USMC officers), Heather Hagaman traveled the world extensively. Her childhood paved the way for an open minded way of perceiving life urging her to experience many things on what she calls her “Journey for Truth”. She got her B.S. in Criminal Justice in Honolulu , Hawaii and worked extensively with juvenile delinquents and runaways. It was in Hawaii , during the late 70’s, that she experienced her first yoga class on top of a mountain overlooking Diamond Head beach . It was during this class that she felt a deep reverence for the yogi life. Returning back to Northern Virginia in the mid 90’s, Heather got her Masters in Counseling specializing in women’s issues, particularly in the areas of addiction and codependency. For the last 10 years she has been working at healing centers as a yoga teacher, artist and counselor. She is also in recovery for her own disordered eating and actively helps women heal from their eating issues. This past summer Heather trained with renowed eating disorder psychologist, Dr. Anita Johnston, author of “Eating in the Light of the Moon.”
