East Meets West is devoted to the pursuit of health and well being through the energy exercises of China and India. The Chinese energy arts include: Tai Chi Chuan, Qigong, Ba Gua Zhang, and Taoist Meditation. The arts of the Indian tradition include several different styles of yoga, including: Hatha (Anusara style), Kundalini, and Ashtanga. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is another important part of our program, providing a wonderful introduction to insightful meditation practices.
These energy arts provide tremendous exercise, opening and strengthening your body. Your stress is released, and your body is balanced. Most importantly, your health is improved. The transformative power of these arts is enhanced by more advanced studies that explore the energy aspects of these exercises, delving into their Qi or Prana components. At their highest levels, these arts are spiritual, providing you insights into your relationships with yourself, others, and God. The beauty of it all is that you can practice these arts in accordance with your interests, your inclination, and your beliefs. We have no hidden agendas here, spiritual or otherwise.
