Mariana began practicing yoga in 1998. From her very first class, she felt a profound feeling of belonging that made her want to keep coming back. Mariana was a movement artist before deepening her yoga practice, and she had been searching for a form of movement where not only all kinds of people would be welcome, but the goal was simply a practice of self-observation and expression, rather than a show on a stage. Not only did she find that in yoga, but she also was thrilled to find a place where her creativity could have a direct and grounding impact on people's everyday lives. When her family started to grow and she felt supported by yoga in all aspects, it just strengthened her beliefs that she was in the right place.
Mariana got her Ashtanga based RYT 200 hr training with Robert Boustany, and began teaching in 2003 in Houston, TX. Vinyasa flow is the style she has been mostly identifying with. Outside of her own practice, her biggest influences are Misha Laird and Jonny Kest.
